Finally, after two snowed-in weekends I finished touching up a couple of Kow prints.  Here's a video too, for size reference.  Natalie is my 15 month old daughter.  My wife is in there for a brief second and so is my dog.

That's some pretty work there, Rob.  I bet you would draw a nice crowd if you were to talk at one of the meetings and show off some of your work.    Grin

Thanks Tom.  I'd like to but I live in Richmond and it's hard for me to make it down there on Wednesdays.

Hey Rob that is amazing when I get back to Va Beach I will have to stop by soem time to see how you do this that is way cool. I thinks better than even having a replica made plus a lot easier to move or take care of plus you could even add a backdrop to it of the area you caught it at. Way cool man

Rob,
I looked online (Amazon) for books about Gyotaku. The books were listing for a bunch of $$$. Did you actually teach yourself how to do this ancient Oriental art or did you learn from someone?

My mom did a print of a flounder a couple of years back (she kinda rushed it, but I saw the potential) and I wanted to try it too.  I went to art school at VCU and graduated with an illustration degree, so I do have a pretty decent eye for it.  But for the most part, it was a trial and error thing for most of the year.

No, sorry.  I've been thinking about it.  I only started this last year, so I thought I'd give it some time before I start selling them.  But as soon as I do, I'll post up a link.  Thanks to everyone for the interest.
