Just wanted to introduce myself, just call me Dave Smiley  Just joined this month and and bought a truck to carry a yak so now I am in shopping mode for one. I will need advise on most everything as I have only been on a kayak a few times and though I have been fishing most of my life I have yet to reach that next level. Smiley (57 but feel like 30) I was wondering if any members are using the Hobie Pro Angler and if so what are your opinions of same? Also has anyone seen one with a trolling motor? How would the PA handle out at the CBBT or the shoals with such a setup? Hope to meet and make some new friends and fishing buddies at the next meeting. My wife doesn't like fishing ( got her seasick in 16 ft waves once)but she loves to eat them most any which way.  Smiley

Nice to have you on-board.  I have a PA and I haven't been out to the CBBT, but I 'm sure it will do very well.  I have taken it to OBX and Rudee , but I really had a ball in Oregan inlet with it.  My son has a WS135 and I did use it until my shoulder stated to hurt too much.  You can really move along standing in it is simple and great.  I keep mine on a trailer with my son's and it makes transporting them very easy.

I'll be bringing them back from OBX this weekend so if you would like to try either one of them out let me know.  I live in Chesapeake and I'm available most evenings.  My wife and son are out of town next week, so let me know.  You can call me at 757-615-0157.

Currently residing in Northern VA, just moved down from Ottawa Ontario.  Move every three years or so with the military (Army).  Addicted to kayak fishing.  I do have a question, payed the dues but don't see paid member in my profile?  Although I live 200 miles from the club base 20 bucks was cheap for the support you give to the wounded warriors.  Great work guys.

Welcome to the area and to the club. You should see a change in your status soon.  Being a group that is run by volunteers, I'm sure you understand that some things aren't instantaneous.  We've got a great bunch of folks in TKAA and I encourage you to come out and meet some us.  Please post up if you have any questions, comments, or anything you want to brag about.
