I thought I would share my kayak motor project. I took a basic 24lb thrust cheap Amazon trolling motor and immediately chopped it up. At first I took the switch that was inside the head and moved it up to my seat. I learned a lot doing this project. One thing that is a must is making sure your connections are good! Don't cheap out, get the right stuff the first time. Otherwise you will have a loose connection and have to troubleshoot. (Like I did). During that process I ended up switching out to a PVM which actually regulates the power better and saves battery. It also allow more options for your speed. Great project for the colder months when it's hard to get out. Here is a short video where I give a quick tour: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YexlgkzSkbI
Forgot to give credit to this guy on YouTube where I got the idea from, he is a genius: https://youtu.be/N7FlCSOUKoU?si=cr4d0q5fG4tmnxKi
