17th Annual TKAA Kayak Fish for Charity Tournament

TOURNAMENT DATE: September 25, 2021 

MANDATORY Captains Meeting Friday evening, Sept. 24th, at 7:00 p.m. @ Lake Wright Convention Center 6280 Northhampton Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502

Location: Anglers may fish anywhere in Virginia provided it is open to the public and is public access (launches). No private ponds, lakes, military bases, etc.

Tournament Headquarters: Lake Wright Convention Center 6280 Northhampton Blvd., Norfolk, VA (at intersection of I-64 & Northhampton Blvd)  Special TKAA room rates available.

Entry Fee: $75.00 per angler on or before Sept 12th. $85 per angler after Sept. 13th. Youth price is $40 per angler.

Entry fee includes: entry, Tournament T shirt, award ceremony banquet ticket, one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased separately.

2021 Tournament Long Sleeve Performance shirts will be available for purchase during registration for $30 each. Shirts will feature the 17th Annual TKAA Kayak Fish for Charity Tournament logo. These must be preordered before tournament.

After registration here, you will be emailed an invite to the Tournament in iAngler. If you have an account already you don’t have to do anything. If you don’t, you will be invited to make an account. All tournament fish entries will be made thru the iAngler Tournament app.  *See instructions at bottom.

Please make sure you use SAME EMAIL ADDRESS for BOTH tournament entry and your iAngler account.

Catch, Photo and Release Format, Longest fish wins! Please read the official rules posted in iAngler event page.

Saltwater Division includes: Saltwater Slam (Red Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder)

Individual Species Awards for saltwater: Red Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Striper

Freshwater Division: Freshwater Slam (Largemouth Bass, Pickerel, Panfish)

Individual Species Awards for: Largemouth Bass, Pickerel, and Panfish) (Panfish will include: bluegill, crappie, perch, rock bass, sunfish, pumpkinseed (shellcracker) 

Youth Division (15 and under) Longest fish of any species. Youth anglers do NOT need to have iAngler account. They will submit fish on paper score sheet. 

Motor Division is saltwater slam or if no slam is scored the largest of one of the 3 target fish from the slam. (Red Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder) Motorized Division entries WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR INDIVIDUAL SALT SPECIES AWARDS

A maximum of 6hp internal combustion engine or electical propulsion is permitted. Watercraft specifically approved as exceptions in advance and for this event are: Blue Sky Boatworks 360 Angler, Biyak
Bote Aero/Classic/Verg/Rover, Greentop Enterprise Creek Boats, Solo Skiff, Beavertail Stealth.

Division winners will not be able to double dip (cannot win more than more Division)

The Tournament identifier and launch times will be provided at the MANDATORY CAPTAINS MEETING on the day prior to the tournament.

Pictures submitted on iAngler Tournament App no later than 4PM and must physically check in by 5PM or all catch is disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Judging will take place by the TKAA Board of Directors and all decisions are final.

In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken by time submitted.

Banquet will start at 5PM. Awards & Raffle at 6PM

Trophies will be awarded for first, second, and third place. Other divisions may be announced on the website or at the captains meeting. 

This is a non-profit event and net proceeds will benefit Heroes on the Water & Project Healing Waters. These are two great organizations that use kayak fishing as a means to help rehabilitate our wounded warriors. Men and woman from these groups will participate in our tournament and your support is crucial. There will be lots of great prizes including fishing kayaks and lots of great raffle items including kayak fishing items, tackle, apparel, and much more. 

Must register by Sept. 7 in order to receive tournament t-shirt.

Early registration deadline is Sept. 12th. Late registration prices start Sept. 13th!

Raffle tickets and as well as tournament t-shirts will be available at the captains meeting. If you need extra banquet tickets for a guest, this must be requested for and paid by Sept. 20th to get an accurate count to the hotel.

  2. Register on Event Manager (DO NOT MAKE PAYMENT ON IANGLER)
  3. Do a search and type in TKAA
  4. There are separate entries depending on if you wish to fish saltwater species or freshwater species.
